Seed Workflow State

Produces the v1 workflow-state JSON that reduction.xml consumes. You hand it:

  • the run's NeXus event file (a Galaxy dataset in HDF5 format); its run, instrument, and IPTS are read from the file contents, so the Galaxy dataset_<uuid>.dat filename does not matter,
  • a small YAML or JSON seed describing the parts of the run that cannot be read from the event file.

A minimal seed::

All three paths above are relative to the IPTS shared/ directory, reconstructed as <facility_root>/<INSTRUMENT>/<IPTS>/shared (e.g. /SNS/REF_L/IPTS-36897/shared). Absolute paths in the seed are used as-is.

The tool emits a single JSON dataset suitable for use as the config_json input of the rest of the pipeline (reduction → simple_analyzer → data_assembler). See docs/state-schema.md and docs/state-handling.md for the schema and an end-to-end walkthrough.
