Neutron Science Analysis Cluster

We have two compute nodes in the Neutron Science Analysis Cluster, both running Pulsar. They are managed by the Linux support group through Puppet, like the other compute nodes.

NodeRoleLogin user
sns-ndip-gpu.sns.govGPU node (pulsar_sns_gpu_node01)cloud
ndip-node01.sns.govCPU node (pulsar_sns_node01), also hosts the sns-ndip RDBxv6

Both nodes have read/write access to the /SNS and /HFIR filesystems, including user directories. sns-ndip-gpu.sns.gov has:

  • 1TB memory
  • 1TB disk space
  • 2 AMD EPYC 7443 processors (24 cores each, 48 total)
  • 4 NVIDIA L40 GPUs

Each node runs several Pulsar instances: prod, test and dev, as separate systemd units (pulsar, pulsar_test, pulsar_dev). A "test" deploy therefore touches a production machine. See Pulsar.

We have root access to install our services. For anything else, reach out to support@linux.sns.gov and mention it's about an NDIP SNS machine.
